Scott Harvin applies the experience and knowledge that he has acquired as a former Highway Safety Prosecutor to his work representing clients who have been injured or arrested on
Mr. Harvin's civil litigation practice primarily involves representing victims and the survivors of those injured or killed in collisions with tractor-trailers or other commercial vehicles. In addition, Mr. Harvin handles other serious injury cases resulting from automobile and motorcycle accidents, defective tires or vehicle rollovers. In all types of personal injury cases, Mr. Harvin has helped clients, including those with traumatic brain damage, paraplegia, burns, and spinal injuries, recover compensation for their injuries, disabilities, wage losses and medical bills.
As a criminal defense attorney since 1994, Mr. Harvin has successfully defended those charged with all manner of crimes. However, as his prosecutorial background would foretell, his primary focus is helping those charged with crimes on
Similar to his success in DUI defense, Mr. Harvin aggressively represents clients who have been charged with drug crimes as a result of the police practice of highway drug interdiction. Defending drug cases in both Federal and State court, Mr. Harvin does not believe that a citizen's Constitutional Rights are mere technicalities as some politicians would have one believe. Instead, like Ben Franklin, he believes that those that would give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Mr. Harvin has achieved acquittals for numerous clients who have been charged with trafficking drugs. Amongst them was a man charged with trafficking 105 pounds of marijuana, and another with trafficking 98 pounds of marijuana, each on I-95. Mr. Harvin's numerous trial victories include a not guilty verdict after a six-week Federal drug conspiracy trial in which 19 out of the other 20 defendants were convicted and received substantial incarceration.
